Those who have municipal tax debts may settle accounts with the public coffers. The Municipality of São Paulo is presenting an installment plan for individuals and legal entities. Law 77,777/17 instituted the Incentivized Installment Program (PPI) 2017 for the regularization of tax and non-tax debts incurred up to December 31, 2016.
The initiative assists companies that are debtors of the municipality, so that they may have access to more attractive payment conditions. With this, the João Dória (PSDB) administration intends to collect approximately R$ 1 billion, the volume collected by the last PPI, opened by former mayor Fernando Haddad (PT).
The payments may be paid in installments over up to 10 years. The minimum amounts of the installments shall be R$ 50 for individuals and R$ 300 for legal entities.
Debts relating to violations of traffic legislation, to obligations of a contractual nature, to indemnities owed to the municipality for damage caused to its assets, and to balances of installment plans in progress administered by the Municipal Department of Finance may not be included in the PPI 2017, except for the transfer from the PAT (Administrative Tax Installment Plan).
